Just a small event really. Municipal elections in the Netherlands. They were won by the left with an increase of 50 per cent. One wonders how much further left it could go. I admit that the various, and more numerous, parties’ positions tend bet lost in all the names. But Paul Belien makes it a little easier for those not familiar with such politics to follow along.
What is of real interest is that the immigrant vote has tipped the balance further left. It should come as now surprise that the left there is seen as the Santa Clause state, much like the liberals in the United States. Listen Americans and see if this scenerio doesn’t sound familiar.
The Left is perceived to be the welfare state???s Santa Claus. Most of the immigrants who came to Europe during the past decades were attracted by the generous welfare benefits which Western Europe lavishly bestows on the ???underprivileged.??? Today, owing to their demographic growth, the immigrant vote is increasing as more and more young immigrants reach voting age. In many countries the Left has begun to cater for the immigrants, aware that the immigrants guarantee their power.
The American Liberals and socialists have not been unaware of this strategy. It is not absent from the left’s agenda in both nations. The left in America is still waiting for it to finally tip the balance.
