An Afghan man converts to Christianity from Islam. In America this wouldn’t even hit the papers. In Afghanistan it isn’t just news, it will be a court case and could result in the death penalty. (Hat Tip: Michelle Malkin)
Abdul Rahman, 40, was arrested last month, accused of converting to Christianity.
Under Afghanistan’s new constitution, minority religious rights are protected but Muslims are still subject to strict Islamic laws.
And so, officially, Muslim-born Rahman is charged with rejecting Islam and not for practicing Christianity.
The man has time to get a lawyer but it doesn’t look good. However, some pressure by the United States who shed some blood may bend. But it doesn’t help that a convert is seen as a cancer that must be eradicated (still looking for the Religion of Peace here).
Prosecuting attorney Abdul Wasi told the judge that the punishment should fit the crime.
He says Rahman is a traitor to Islam and is like a cancer inside Afghanistan. Under Islamic law and under the Afghan constitution, he says, the defendant should be executed.
They can’t withstand the competition of ideas. The fact that it is so threatening that one believes the Jesus Christ is from God and speaks the truth speaks volumes. You can state some of the ‘volumes’ but just not in strict Muslim nations.

As barbaric as it may seem, according to Muslim law if your try to convert Muslims it is punishable by death. This guy knew that a head of time, so what’s the problem.
