DeLauro’s act has 39 co-sponsors and was referred to the House Agriculture Committee on Feb. 4. It calls for the creation of a Food Safety Administration to allow the government to regulate food production at all levels – and even mandates property seizure, fines of up to $1 million per offense and criminal prosecution for producers, manufacturers and distributors who fail to comply with regulations.

First off, thew person that proposed this should not only be immediately fired and permanently banned from participating in ANY form of government authority. They should be jailed, after a psyche exam. If this passes, I think that not only should people oppose it, but I feel they have an obligation to do so. To not oppose it is to give up even the most primitive of basic fundamental human rights. You might as well just lay down like a dog and submit to any & every whim of the government. This is out right tyranny on the highest level. If the government could get away with this, they could do anything and everything from suspending the constitution or nullify the bill of rights, to mandatory chip implants. Basically anything they feel like. EVERY single American, even if they never grew a garden, would have to plant 1. Even if it is a single tomato or strawberry plant on a windowsill. Force the rogue government to illegally attempt to arrest, fine and confiscate (ie, kidnap, steal & rob) the property of 50,60 million patriotic Americans. By doing so, it would bankrupt the government with the 5 to 10 trillion $$$ annual cost of jailing us. Not to mention the cost of building the prisons, the lost tax base, and annihilation of the work force, orphaning of 10′s of millions of children of the “political prisoners”. With the many people arrested, the country would abruptly grind to a complete halt. The only option open to the government would be to repeal the absurd law, or sit back and with the slow, agonizing death of a once great & powerful country,…all over veggies.
